As Kevin puts together a weekend away for him and Scotty, he is contacted by an acquaintance he met while at a conference with his father. Meanwhile, Nora visits Holly at the Ojai office.

Much to the chagrin of her mother and siblings, Kitty decides to publish a tell-all memoir about Robert's unsuccessful Presidential race and the trials and tribulations of the Walker family. Meanwhile, Justin slows his relationship with Rebecca to a near stand still.

Two Walkers resign from Ojai Foods. Sarah stands up for Tommy. Justin wrestles with his job as a military recruiter and, along with Rebecca, has dinner with a fellow soldier. Later, Rebecca notes Justin doesn't discuss his time in Iraq and worries about his sobriety. An uncomfortable Kevin dodges a marriage inquiry from a very important client and his wife.

Nora gets ready for a new charity venture by getting rid of all of William's belongings. Meanwhile, Robert begins to interview possible replacements for Kitty; Holly looks into the location of William's son; and a time capsule brings two of the siblings closer together.

Rebecca begins to doubt her mother when she finds a file on Ryan Lafferty in Holly's possession. Meanwhile, Kevin finds himself to be in an uncomfortable situation as he meets Scotty's very conservative parents.

Nora sets out to find as much as she can about William's son in order to beat Holly. Meanwhile, Kitty and Robert await news on a potential birth mother.

Tommy and Julia celebrate a spectacular wedding anniversary while Justin and Rebecca become spooked about their own romance, and the McCallisters' shot at an adoption are endangered by Kitty's neuroses.

Surprise!! Surprises are good, right? Not when the Walkers are planning them. There is some legitimate good news: Scotty has been promoted to head chef at his swanky restaurant! That means more responsibility and a bigger paycheck. But, mostly, a bigger paycheck. On the bad news front, Robert worries that his wife, Kitty, is depressed about their botched adoption. His first clue? She stays up all night donating to charity infomercials. Yeah, we guess she's depressed. But Robert asks Kevin for his opinion, which grows to all the Walkers' opinions.

Holly offers Rebecca a position at the winery without consulting with Tommy. Meanwhile, Robert and Kitty move forward with the adoption process; Nora continues developing her new charity; and Sarah takes a risk on her new business partners.

It's time for another Walker family chaos-filled Thanksgiving. Or, maybe not ... All the Walker siblings make alternate plans with their significant others' families for Turkey Day – with the exception of single Sarah – and not one of them has the nerve to tell Nora. They gather at the house while Mom's out to figure out how best to break the news to her. Some advice if we can: Do it from a distance!

But, before he comes over, Nora receives a mysterious ‘ring and hang up’ phone call. Who could that be?

Senator Robert McCallister is dead. He flatlines in the hospital ER. Doctors apply defibrillator paddles to shock him back to life. Two, three shocks and Robert's heart starts beating again. He's ALIVE! In the same hospital, Kitty holds her new baby boy for the first time, who is absolutely adorable. But when Kitty gets the news about her husband from Sarah, she immediately runs to his side. The doctor informs Kitty that Robert is going to need surgery to remove the blockage that caused his heart attack.

In the wake of a medical crisis, Robert continues strong on his campaign for governor. Meanwhile, Saul and Sarah work to hide Tommy’s legal problems from Nora.

Kevin and Justin take Tommy on a trip in order to help him make a decision about his future. Meanwhile, Kitty and Evan head to Nora's to meet the new half-brother.

Desperate to get through to Tommy before his legal troubles worsen; Nora reaches out for help to the person whom he hurt most deeply. Meanwhile, Ryan Lafferty gets a bit too close to Rebecca for Justin's comfort.

As the Walkers continue hoping that Tommy will come home, Sarah decides to make another career change. Meanwhile, Kitty begins to question whether or not her marriage will survive, and Kevin and Scotty receive a proposal from Chad.

Julia makes plans for her future having grown tired of waiting for Tommy. Meanwhile, Robert finds out what Kitty has kept from him, and Holly and Sarah finally find balance in their relationship.

Kitty is forced to reflect on her father's past indiscretions and decide what's more important in life, after she and Robert meet a crossroads in their marriage. Meanwhile, Ryan finds information concerning his mother's death and takes a huge step backwards in competing for Rebecca's affection.

Their worst fears may be happening for the Walkers' as their efforts to help Tommy seems to be futile. Meanwhile, it seems to be at a point of no return for Robert and Kitty's marriage; Saul makes a startling discovery about Ryan's mother; and Justin moves ahead with his future plans.
